Registered organisations can also make use of our regular media slots in the region's local newspapers and radio.

Advice, Training and Support for Organisations

Volunteer Action can offer advice, support and help to develop your Volunteer Policy. We also offer information and updates on appropriate policies and practices whilst promoting positive volunteer experiences.

We offer training to all registered volunteer-involving organisations around best practice in working with and supporting volunteers, including Strategically Planning for Volunteer Involvement, Recruiting Volunteers, Support and Supervision of Volunteers, Diversity in a Volunteer Programme, Confidentiality and Boundaries, SkillCheck and many more.

We also offer a range of free training workshops to registered volunteers across the region, including STEPs to Excellence, Introduction to Volunteering, Workplace Befriender Training, Group Facilitation Skills, SkillCheck and a Personal Development Portfolio.

Training can be delivered within organisations, where appropriate, or to groups of staff and/or volunteers in local, accessible venues.
