STEPS to Excellence

Free training course for Volunteers

An exciting training opportunity is available for volunteers in the Stewartry. The course can cost approx £200 per person, but we are able to offer it FREE at the moment due to funding from The Robertson Trust and the Scottish Government and the European Community, Dumfries and Galloway LEADER 2007-2013 programme. All refreshments will be provided.

There are only 12 places available for volunteers on this course, which gives participants the opportunity to take a fresh look at their lives. The course helps participants to see how much they are capable of achieving and offers the tools to make it happen.

Previous participants on the course have this to say:

“I feel confident for the first time in my life & look forward to the future being my own self”

“I felt the course was excellent. It was stimulating, interesting, fun & practical”

This is a 4 day course, running on 14th, 15th, 21st, and 22nd June between 9.30 a.m & 2.45 p.m. The venue is still to be confirmed. You need to be available for all 4 days.

To take advantage of this wonderful opportunity, please contact Christine Clarke by Tuesday 2nd June. For further information about the STEPs to Excellence Course, contact me on 01556 612518 or 01387 267311.

First Course completed for T for Training Project.
The first Elementary Food & Health training course, part-funded by The Robertson Trust and by the Scottish Government and the European Community, Dumfries and Galloway Leader 2007-2013 programme is now complete.

Volunteers from 3 communities took part. All agreed that they valued the course and would highly recommend it to other volunteers. In addition they thought the course was well organised, enjoyable, relevant, interesting and motivating, and the information was presented in a way that would be easy to pass on to young people.

The next Elementary Food & Health course will be for volunteers in Annandale and Eskdale, and is planned for late November/early December. The date and venue are still to be confirmed.

For more information, further advice or assistance about volunteering, please contact: Christine, Volunteer Action, 71 High Street, Dalbeattie, DG5 4HA; 01556 612518: email stewartry@volunteeraction.co.uk
